Meet Walkyria Whitlock

My name is Walkyria, and I am an Idaho-based NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach. I am also a Certified Yoga Instructor and Meditation Teacher.

I started meditation and yoga when I was 18-20 y/o. These two practices helped me overcome depression, build a better relationship with my body, and feel limber and calm in my mind. I became a Yoga Instructor in 2018 and have taught at Yoga Retreats in Costa Rica, Morocco, and all around the world on yachts.

I became certified in Yoga Nidra (sleep meditation) in 2018 and am currently finishing my Meditation Teacher Certification through Deepak Chopra. 

Personal Training is a career that grew from a passion. I found it empowering to learn about nutrition, how the body works, and science-based training concepts. Anything is possible if you stay dedicated and consistent!  

Learning about nutrition has transformed my life. I have dealt with an E.D. myself, and before I embarked on this journey, I healed that one. If you think you may have an E.D., talk to a registered psychiatrist. 

There is hope though! You can learn to enjoy food, build a healthy relationship around eating, and achieve the results you desire. Sound too good to be true? The difficult part is consistency! Depending on the goals you may have, it may take a long time. You simply must be consistent in your nutrition and exercise and adapt as you see fit.

As a Nutrition Coach with a cooking background (I used to be a cook on yachts and a private cook for a family in the Hamptons), I see that you eat things you enjoy while getting nutritional benefits. 

With a rounded base of approach, my goal is to provide you with the resources and education that will lead you to a healthier and happier life.

My methodology is empowerment through education. Once we have an understanding of why/how the body works, we know the framework that we need to work within to achieve the results we want. There is a lot of freedom within this framework, and we will discover what you enjoy most. Joy is one of the foundational pieces of long-lasting fitness routines.

And my favorite quote as it pertains to fitness is, 'a body in motion, stays in motion.'

Longlasting change comes from lifestyle change, and lifestyle change comes from creating a life in which you are happier than before! Let's build that life together.

Through evidence-based training, we use principles that have been proven by science to guide our exercise practices.

How our body uses what we eat has been studied immensely by science. Through evidence-based practice, we can develop optimal nutrition plans to achieve our goals.

Meditation helps regulate one of the greatest contributors to illness: stress. Through consistent practice, we may feel more peace, connection, purpose and less stress, anxiety, and depression.

My Story

Being a woman, how I look has always mattered. It changes the way people perceive, treat, and respect me. 

I have been broken up with for gaining weight, picked for a job because I looked good, given special privileges because I looked good, and completely dismissed because I didn't look good. 

When it drastically changes your experience of life, it is difficult not to care. Thus I have always cared, but my method wasn't always right. Focusing on deprivation led me to an eating disorder and a digress to any progress.

Though my practice in meditation and yoga from the age of 18 helped me to develop a better mindset, manage stress, and connect more deeply with my body, I struggled to obtain the results I sought.

Learning about nutrition and exercise allowed me to completely change my body in a healthy, sustainable way. It helped me develop a healthy relationship with food and exercise. I hope to share what I have learned in nutrition, exercise, and meditation with you so that you may feel empowered in your body and feel freedom in life.. able to take on whatever form you desire.
