The Sawyer Learning Center is a user friendly library, reading room, computer room, study area, and soon to be, coffee house. The development of the Learning Center is a collaborative effort between the West Branch and Forsyth Township through the Sawyer Operations Authority.
The Sawyer Learning Center features a family and children’s reading and viewing room near the entry to the Center. Located in this area are children’s books, comfortable seating (to include large pillows), children’s books, and children’s videos. Many families use this area for reading to children and viewing videos.
Three computers with wireless Internet access are available for use by adults and youth that have safety Internet controls and one computer for adult use only. The wireless capability was donated by Charter Communications. Patrons who have their own laptop computers may access the Internet in the Learning center.
The larger Center area not only features the computers but also has a table where high school or college students can study and work on school assignments. An adult reading area is also available with two comfortable chairs and a fireplace. All the improvements, additions, and renovations were made possible by a grant from the Plum Creek Foundation.
